We Can’t All be Martin Luther King Jr.
We are all the same on the inside
But on the outside we are not the Same
Different skin colors, eye color, hair color, height, weight, and shapes
But We want to be, the same that is
Our differences define us, but also hinder us
Leading us the notion that we all need to be the same,
The same but not equal,
We talk about equality as if it is a distant dream,
Dream comes true,
So why hasn’t this one,
The truth
Because no one really wants equal rights,
Since the begin of the human race there has always been this struggle to have respect for all,
The need to dominate others as been instilled in all of us,
Whether it is for personal gain or merely just to help our pride,
It's all the same the truth that lies within us
We all don’t want civil rights or equal rights for all,
MLK, Malcome X, Rosa Parks
Fought endlessly for a goal that is never likely to happen
For all is possible, except when it relies on us to give up our needs or wants for power over those the same as us,
This fight may never end and most don’t want it too,
One thing is for sure people will always be fighting,
Our Own Kind
We are all born the same,
When we are young we believe we are the same,
But as we grow society pushes us to see our differences,
Differences that we are made to believe have advantages and disadvantages
This is the start. The start of a long bumpy road of rejection.
In this rejection, we cling to our own to find acceptance. A contradiction to an ethic we are taught at a young age.
??To accept our own. We are all one race.
Why is it okay to reject parts of our own.
The human race.
